  1. I LOVE Dondria…but wheres the ENTHUSIASM…PERK UP Mama your LIVING the DREAM!!!! We are ALL DEF riding with you!!!!! SING That ish Dondria..Leave em SPEECHLESS!!!

  2. I like Dondria ….but she didnt seem to be on pitch or something was missing. She has a wonderful voice but she has to show more confodence.

  3. I wonder if Dondria is truly passionate about her singing career??? She mostly seems very bored and i don’t see any fire burning withing her.. I don’t sence anything charming either. She has the talent but… where’s the X Factor. P.S. Leak the New Janet song!!! I love you JD!!

  4. wow i just read the two replies before me. I didnt even read those before i comment. Glad to know I’m not the only one. JD time to let Dondria go!! Focus on janets new album, i love your beats man

  5. I agree Dondria has talent and I used to be a big fan (still am) but lately she hasn’t seemed that excited about anything that she’s doing, she just seems like she’s just there and there’s no passion.. and as a fan that make’s me less excited about her and kinda disappointed. I feel like she’s kinda getting tired of all the promotion she has to go through (i.e. being a new artist and getting that exposure) and just want’s to be on the top right now. But you gotta work your way up baby! the artists that have been around for 20 + years (janet, sade, mariah, celine dion, madonna, prince) had to work their ass off to get where they are today, and they continue to have to prove themselves in this generation because they wouldn’t know talent if it slapped them in the face.. No one just handed success to them. Maybe I’m just imagining things but I’ve followed her since the beginning and I feel like she’s lost that spark that made me love her so much. Especially during interviews, she doesn’t seem like she even wants to be there. Oh well enough of my pointless ranting.. lol

  6. I thought she did an awesome job — keep it up girl

  7. JD, Keep doing what you do man. Dondria, you did an awesome job.

  8. I think she did a good job. I understand what the other lifers are talking about but remember yall she is a NEW artist, give her a little time. By the time she hits the big games I am sure she will represent.

Jd said some powerful stuff about working on a new artist, the shit is hard. I wonder are the stations playing Dondria because of the song, or are they playing it because of who is behind it? It is not really catching on like that here in Atlanta so its good to see how the song is doing in TX. I will pull up the BDS report tonight.

Overall I am enjoying this movement and think it is being put together nicely. I still don’t think “You’re the one” is the song but then again, it would be a perfect song for a So So Def remix. What happened to those days when the remix was better then the original and was just as important as the original? JD should let the lifers do the remix but we know how he is. Where the accepella at? Let me log into Digiwaxx…

  9. i swear this girl keeps looking better every LTL episode….not sure where all this criticism is coming from. Seems to be just females w/ the negative feedback- The envious die not once, but as oft as the envied win applause

  10. #poorbaby- She can sing, but she is no star. The lifer above is correct, she has no spark, and no enthusiasm. What happened Jermaine?

  11. Wow. It’s so nice to see Dondria doing her thing. She’s come a long way. She has a great voice and is lucky to have your full support behind her. I did notice what some of the others mentioned but I didn’t interpret it as a lack of passion for her craft. I just think she’s new and is still working on perfecting her stage presence. Folks have to remember, that’s what you’re out on the road doing. You’re getting her ready…As long as she stays focused and keeps working hard, it will work out. I hope “Can You Help Me?” will be a single. I really feel spirit on that song.

  12. Hey JD,

I think that Dondria did a good job, and she really wants & appreciates this opportunity.
She is only human, anxious & eager to not disappoint the people who like her.

Although she was out of her comfort zone, baby girl is strong enough to step out there and
maybe even gain some new fans.

QUICK QUESTION: (to those who bring negative criticism)
How many of us can say or remember a time in our own life when we have boldly done the same?

I think that she was a little nervous because we all know that some people usually come to be
entertained and often leave with judgements.

Thanks JD, for allowing us to witness Dondria’s progress. I wish that you both continue to have
successful endeavors, it teaches us how to help and accept help from others.

    Peace of Mind,
    PrettyBrownEyes

  13. Well said, PrettyBrownEyes. I agree. Another thing that came to mind was how you are out on the road grinding with Dondria each step of the way. Do record moguls/execs even do that anymore (especially for a new artist)? It’s just nice to see you working so closely with her like that. It seems like people don’t do that anymore. But ofcourse, I’m only looking in from the outside and don’t really know what goes on in the background…

  14. I see nervous and new artists all the time, but none look as bored and uninspired at her. sorry

    xx

  15. Gotta be honest JD. Dondria definitely needs to learn to interview better. The awkward silences and lack of enthusiasm are killing me. She’s an amazing vocalist, and has a fabulous personality that I wish those who haven’t been following her since the beginning could see/hear through interviews. We want Dondria to take the R&B game over…and I feel like this will def. help get her there (besides her voice of course lol)

    Love,

    A Lifer

  16. Nicely done Dondria! Hey DJ! I luv what you’re wearing!

  17. HEY YOU GUYS, JUST GIVE HER A LITTLE MORE TIME. SHE WILL EVENTUALLY GET THERE !!! KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING JERMAINE.

  18. You did very good Dondria. I just thought that you were a little nervous and it’s understandable. Keep on grinding cause that will pay off big time and listen to JD cause he knows how to make stars.

I just think that TNT was throwing some shade by not showing it on TV and exposing her to the world. But your time will come again.

  19. Damn yall going in!!!

DOES SHE HAVE STAR POTENTIAL? It does not matter that she can sing, I know 50 chicks in the church that can sing… DOES SHE HAVE STAR POTENTIAL? What makes her a star BESIDES the people she is working with?????? But then again, if you can make Xscape into stars you can do anything. But the difference when you first heard Xscape you HEARD them first and didn’t see them. You were in love with their music first, when you first saw them you were a little disappointed but you still liked them.

    JD ADDRESS THIS……

    I don’t know yet, but I am giving her a chance….she is still new….

  20. Loved it Dondria you did wat u did put u gr8 all da same Jd always get da best hopefully you gonna be in Jamaica Ny so i can display my talend

  21. I think some people are being too hard on her. We have been given the opportunity to see her process every step of the way. With that being the case, people think they know everything and tend to be more critical. She seem like any other new and some old artist to me. idk we just need a video or a new single.
