  1. Finally got it right…

Holla @ me on twitter @Tongadude

  2. Thanks for doing this, Atlanta needed it , and most importantly hip hop needs it. I keep asking myself why I am SoSoDef4Life, and then i see this interview and it quickly comes back to me, “the mayor” Jermaine Dupri continues to make strides in an industry that at times seems to just want to “fall off”, but then you have those who refuse to let that happen. Jermaine is one of those guys. I was so upset when I seen the first video of Greg coming at JD, but quickly realized that it had to be a misunderstanding, and now we can see the two “communicating” with one another, instead of “at” one another. Good job fellas, and shoutout to necolebitchie for conducting this interview. Great look lady.

  3. Two guys whom I consider to be my friends. This is great and long over due… Sometimes you have to fix the past to go into the future. I pray that egos, money, and differences of opnions will not continue to divide us. The day that we understand that a difference prospective represents power, is the day we will be better able to make power moves.

  4. This was a good look. I’m glad the beef was squashed. I remember when I lived in the A when I was in HS, I was all about Greg Street. He def keeps the party going. Oh, yeah it’s a good look with Necole Bitchie doing the interview. JD, you know she’s a Ocean chick. It’s time for you to let her and Monica be the Katherine Zeta-Jones & Julia Roberts to your Oceans crew!!

  5. And ladies and gentlemen this is what two real grown men do when they have a disagreement, they sit down and talk it out and agree to disagree.
Only if the rest of the Hip Hop community would learn from this example we would be in a better place as far as musicians and black people are concerned.

  6. I’m glad both of you got it together! I was super excited when I saw communication on twitter between the two of you! JD and GregStreet are two major figures in Atlanta and its only right that yall hashed it out like grown men! Kudos!

  7. Glad yall got it together..and realize u can agree to disagree..like Greg said this was a family dispute..glad yall r still family

  8. That interview kinda went nowhere. That’s all I can really say about it. I guess its just one of those agree to disagree things. This kinda shoulda been squashed a year ago.

  9. I COMMEND YOU BOTH FOR DOING THIS AND STANDING UP FOR HIP HOP. ONLY IF CHICAGO CAN GET ON SAME PAGE.

  11. grown man shit there! took way too long to squash the beef. but i guess better late than never.

  12. @ Kandi

It took a lot of maturity and leadership, and it takes even more of a person to admit when they are wrong. You have to look at this:

95% of the people around JD are either trying to get on, are depended on him (on his payroll), or are rich themselves. Not too many just regular people. (From what I can see) Now considering dudes been in the business all his life how many true friends does dude have to curse his ass out sometimes. When I talked to JD he has the attitude like it’s his way or no way.

Now think about a DJ being on the radio every night in a major market like Atlanta. How many people will be around if he was not on the radio, and more importantly how many people are kissing his ass because he IS on the radio…. When Greg went to TX I was still talking to him everyday and I have never been to TX.

It’s a hard life being a famous I can’t even imagine it but once you consider all of that you can see it was a BIG DEAL to get these guys to come back to together. Both of them are rich and really don’t NEED to keep working; the point is they are not coming together over money, it’s about the love of music and the love for the city of Atlanta.

  13. Very tastefully done…with dignity and respect. If you guys reuniting could form a DJ training camp that would be off the chain and keep some young dudes off the street whether they become DJs or not it could give them another outlet other than sports to make a life for themselves, teach them dignity, respect and discipline, and showing that true effort can bring about change. You guys having the heart to come together, to me, speaks volume saying, “These guys are LIVING THE LIFE.” May your reunion touch many hearts and draw them to reconciliation. Wonderful my brothers. Peace!

  14. I had to watch this a second time. You see so many things you guys both are spittin’ knowledge and JD you made a valid point that there are so many different DJs, I never knew that, but now it helps me to see the difference, I have heard DJs on the radio have a segment of “Hit or Miss”, “Flip It or Flop It”, and then I’ve heard party DJs say, “This is a new cut by…”, so you are also correct in the introduction of something new is important. You know I believe if some of this stuff was presented before the ppl first it may never have made. It seems once we get used to hearing something we get used to it. VIDEO WAS EVEN BETTER THE SECOND TIME AROUND. I don’t desire to be a DJ but I know more about what to expect. You guys were great!!!

  15. True men and im glad its been squashed. These are the attribute that make me smile. Sosodef 4 life

  16. Outstanding anti-beef journalism. We need more of this.

  17. im glad some of the bloggers got this, some still dont get it or dont want to get it. its not about jd being right or wrong or me being right or wrong. its a difference of opinion between 2 people who’s relationship is way bigger than the opions of this one incident. a lot of relationships & people who we were both friends with had to choose sides & it wasnt a good look. i said some things i shouldnt have said & maybe jd did also. i’ve learned from this & other situations that my opinion or voice means a lot more than what i think it does. to me im just a regular person & greg street on the radio is a regular person just like everybody else. some people dont look at it like that, i will always look at myself as a regular everyday person. i just have to be careful of somethings i say in the public or online. as we see, this video will not have half the views of the negative things this was all originated from. this is the state of the people & we have to be careful with our voices & opinions! nothing but love to the so so def family

  18. Im on the outside looking in and what I saw from Gregg was not what I call a friend. How can you go in on a friend like you did? That was personal and it takes a big man to move on after the comments ypou made. We out here are glad you guys have moved on but if its just a difference of opinion why attack jd like that? Seemed like some built up stuff that you let out cuz the timing was right. This is just my opinion, if that’s a friend I don’t want any of that. That aint it!!!

  19. @ seldom seen73

First of all we don’t know everything that happened. When I first got to global I thought of JD as a great producer but as stupid as hell as a business man. I thought of how crazy it was that people like Puffy could come in the game AFTER JD and just leave him behind. Or a Jimmy Ivine getting producers and artists from Atlanta when JD is right here. Then JD reached out to me and we started talking. My whole prospective changed about this brother. Instead of me looking at JD as just sleeping on artists I have come to realize he is just too HANDS ON with no real team in place. I really don’t think he understands that YOU GET POWER BY GIVING POWER!!! What Greg said was personal but it was no more then what everybody else on the street has been saying for a while. IT’S STILL NO EXCUSE FOR THAT TYPE of behavior. There is always a proper way to handle disagreements and as leaders in our community Greg should have used better judgment. Now if the record is wack it’s wack No DJ is going to keep playing your music just because of your past hits. but if you are surrounded by yes men and people on your payroll then how would you know? The producer is more dead then the DJ. How can dude have stuff be built up when he let dude get a whole hour of his show on Saturdays? I think Greg just took the DJ comment personally because of how much passion he has for DJ’s.

The problem always comes in when we speak THROUGH other people instead of directly with each other. When JD said the DJ was dead, he and Greg should have just met somewhere, the pubic didn’t even have to know about it. I don’t know the full story and really don’t want to know… I just know I am happy they are moving forward!!

While two of the greats are fighting, music continues to decrease in quality!! You can’t change the past, you can only learn from it and move forward!!

    Spock

OH yeah all friends fight sometimes, just like brothers and sisters fight, it’s a part of life…. Learn from it and move on!!

  20. MAN I LIKE THIS BECAUSE FIRST ITS THAT ATLANTA STILL ON TOP WE ANI’T GON STOP AND SECOND ITS FEELS GOOD TO SEE TWO PEOPLE I LOOK UP TO IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS AND RADIO COME TOGETHER FOR THIS REUNION. MAN THIS VIDEO IS ONE OF THE TRUE MEANINGS OF HIP-HOP AND JD I’M STILL TRYING TO GET YOU TO SIGN MY COPY OF YOUNG , RICH , AND DANGEROUS MAN YOUR BOOK HAS INSPIRED ME SO MUCH. WHEN MY MOM FIRST WENT AND GOT THE BOOK SHE WAS TALKING WITH A FRIEND OF HERS MOM. HE’S WELL KNOWN MUSIC PRODUCER IN THE “A” AS WELL AND SHE TOLD MY MOM THAT I WAS GOING TO BE THE NEXT JERMAINE DUPRI AND I’M STICKING TO IT TOO. THAT’S WHERE I GET THE PHARSE FROM ALL THE TIME WHEN I POST A COMMENT ON HERE. BUT HOPEFULLY I CAN MEET YOU ONE DAY AND WE CAN CREATE SOME HITS IIGHT MAN I’M OUT.

  21. @Spock all of that could have been avoided if Greg would have been mature enough to talk to JD OFFLINE instead of running to the internet to make videos. Its childish and bitch-like. IN MY OPINION.

  22. @ Spock. I feel you and I agree but what I was saying is that Gregg went all in about how JD been on Jay z dick. what does that have to do with the djing issue. Like Gregg said Kia should never had been on a Janet record but that was not the issue. Jd this should ignite a more ferocious fire under you to reclaim that old focus. Please don’t take my comment wrong but you got something other producers don’t and that’s what we want to hear.
