The Paris Auto Show is where the next Bentley Continental GT will be revealed, but that will concern the coupe only. The convertible GTC will continue a while longer while the new body style is prepared for its own fashion show next year. To keep North American buyers enticed, Bentley’s dressed up the GTC and GTC Speed in Midnight paint and various accoutrement and called it the 80-11 Edition.

Shown off at Pebble Beach, in addition to their unique hue they both get shiny Union Jack badges on their front fenders, Dark Metallic soft tops and heavy-as-billet Mulliner gas tank caps. When it comes to telling the apart, the GTC gets 20-inch, 14-spoke wheels with black centers while the GTC Speed gets the lighter-weight Continental Supersports wheel in a dark tint, under which reside red brake calipers. Inside, they both get turned aluminum dashes and Beluga leather but the GTC gets contrasting white stitching, the GTC Speed wears Pillar Box Red stitching.

The final thing they have in common: FlexFuel engines capable of running on E85. Meaning the only thing you’ll lose with these two is carbon emissions. They’ll be arriving in dealer showrooms later this year.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!! THE $800,000 BENTLY STATION WAGON

At the Geneva Motor Show Bentley just unveiled a stunning two-door station wagon or “shooting brake” model dubbed the Continental Flying Star built by Italian coachwork firm Touring Superleggera. Based on either the Bentley Continental GTC with a 560 hp twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine, or the GTC Speed with a 610 hp engine, only 20 examples will be built at a base price of about $800,000 apiece. The car’s completely new rear compartment features two foldable rear seats and a variable loading space. The term “shooting brake” does not refer to the braking system but originated with custom built two-door luxury estate cars altered for use by hunters and other sportsmen such as golfers, equestrians, and polo players requiring easy access to larger storage areas than offered by the typical automobile trunk. At the Geneva Motor Show Bentley just unveiled a new line of limited edition sunglasses created in collaboration with Austrian eyewear manufacturer Estede. Working with the famed British marque’s design teams in Crewe, England, the Estede for Bentley collection features precious metals – silver palladium, 18 carat gold and, most exclusive of all, platinum, which Estede claims has never before been used in eyewear – and innovative surface treatments mirroring Bentley’s quilted leather upholstery. Available in two different sizes, the aviator-style shades will be offered in a presentation box containing interchangeable lenses for varying activities. Each pair will be individually numbered and can also be engraved with owner’s name and / or Bentley model number. Prices will range from about $1,900 for the silver palladium version and $5,500 for the 18 carat gold all the way up to $15,000 for the platinum model.

Bentley is set to introduce the motoring press to what it claims is the World’s Fastest Four-Seat Convertible next month at the Geneva Motor Show. Naturally, that would also make it the fastest convertible Bentley has ever turned out. Like the hardtop Continental Supersports that the British luxury brand introduced a little while back, the drop-top features a twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine that puts out 621 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque whether running on gasoline, ethanol or a combination of the two.
