Trendy New York City mac-and-cheese joint MacBar teamed with Vans to outfit their staff in mac-and-cheese yellow, raincoat-vinyl Authentics. Our friends at Kempt feel that “a low-top galosh sneaker is pretty much perfect for casual raingear—and canvas was getting a little played out anyway.”

We get a first look at the Spring 2010 Vans Sk8 Hi Standard Issue LX. Based on the silhouette of the classic Sk8 Hi, the sneaker comes in a mix of canvas and suede. The main difference to the classic are the side-panels, as well as the tongue tag. ViaComplex.
REAL HARD
Vans continues their work with Venice, California thrash/hardcore band Suicidal Tendencies on a Sk8-Hi for December 2009. In traditional Vans x band style, the sneakers are adorned with ample ST artwork and logo placements over a simple black and white color palette.

Vans Summer 2009 “Quilted” Slip-On
Vans presents a series of tonal Slip-On’s for Summer 2009, all featuring a quilted pattern on the toe box. The sneaker keeps its clean looks, yet is a little different from the norm. We would say, just enough change on this classic. The quilted Slip-On is now available in several colorways atEssence.

Western Edition x Vans Sk8 Hi “Davis ‘59 Quartet”
Back in March, Western Edition released a series of 10th Anniversary Miles Davis inspired decks. It was recently revealed that they also produced a one of a kind pair of Vans20Sk8 Hi’s. As an extension of the deck artwork, these Vans feature full panel close-up illustrations of Miles ‘59 Quartet band members and a tri-color Western Edition logo on the back. These are not scheduled for a public release.

Vans Vault Fall 2009 Hi Fi LX
For Fall 2009, Vans Vault will be releasing a new high top sneaker, the Hi Fi LX. The sneaker will be released next season in an all black pony hair version, a black/white pony hair zebra pattern and a gold/purple colorway. The sneaker features regular lacing at the bottom and hooks a the top, similar to hiking boots. Look out for these from August.

Vans Mint Pack
A nice and solid pack comes from the Vans Spring/Summer 2009 Col lection. The brown/mint color mix works very well and is solid, yet not boring at all – the perfect everyday colorway for the summer. The pack consists of several Vans classics and is now available in stores.

For Fall 2009, Vans and KISS get together for the third time in recent years. Entitled “Rock N Roll Over” Pack, the sneakers and apparel feature artwork from the 1976 album of the band, carrying the same name. The pack consists of the Sk8 Hi and the Slip-On. Along with the sneakers there will be some t-shirts, as well as denim.
